Connection, courage, and a bit of chaos

A no-pressure, fun-filled way to experience improvisation. In under 90 minutes, we’ll show you the joy on the other side of nerves, the connection and creativity that comes from feeling safe (even with strangers), and help you find that part of your brain that’s a bit feral and wild.

We’ll start with some simple connection exercises before moving on to games and activities which help you actively practice courage and creativity. No theory and minimal waffle, just lots of laughter and insight.

All tasters are delivered by our experienced faculty.

On the day, you may be asked to appear in photos that we'll use for marketing purposes, but only with your consent. You're welcome to opt-out of appearing in photos; let your facilitator know when the question pops up.

  • Group of diverse people on stage, standing and dancing, smiling and having fun during a performance or rehearsal, with a dark curtain backdrop.

    Rediscover Play

Expand your comfort zone, build confidence, and connect with others in a low-stakes, high-fun environment. Expect games and exercises designed to get you moving, thinking, and connecting at the top of your intelligence. You’ll be on your feet and connecting with a group of wildly clever, diverse players. Rediscover Play is designed for those completely new to improvisation.

  • Two people sitting on chairs, engaged in conversation. The person on the right is smiling and dressed in a colorful dress. The person on the left, wearing an orange shirt, is gesturing with their hands.

    Make a Scene

You’ve got a solid grasp on the basics. It’s time to let go of control, step into your stretch zone, and let delight lead the way. Put all your improv skills to work at once as you device skits, scripts and stories in real-time. We’ll move from games to scene so you can test your skills without scaffolds, with coaching and support to help you refine the craft. Make a Scene is designed for improvisers who have taken Rediscover Play.

  • Group of people standing and sitting, some with eyes closed and hands raised or clasped, participating in a meditation or prayer session in a dark room.

    Scenius

Discover new ways of playing by tapping into the wisdom of the room. We’ll boil improvisation down to the basics, listening and reacting, and explore how they can help us come up with ideas collectively. We’ll work with longer scenes and performance pieces so you explore how collective creativity works. Scenius is designed for players who have taken Make a Scene.

What’s it like learning improv with OTH?

You’ll leave with…

  • Group of people dancing and laughing on a stage with dark curtains in the background.

    A Cheshire-cat grin

The kind that happens when you forget to overthink and remember how fun it is to play.

  • A woman with glasses and curly hair looks attentive, surrounded by others, including an older woman with short gray hair who appears to be speaking, in a dark setting.

    A lighter kind of confidence

Not “performing confidence.” Real confidence that comes from trusting yourself in the moment.

  • Three people performing a dance or comic act on stage with a black backdrop, facing an audience.

    Some new wild-human connections

You’ll walk in with strangers and walk out feeling surprisingly connected.
