Anonymous Complaints Process
Overview
Only the Human (OTH) and the Perth Improvised Theatre Society (PITS) are committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal opportunities. We believe every person has the right to be free from harassment and discrimination.
Harassment and discrimination will not be tolerated, condoned or ignored at OTH/PITS. If a claim of harassment or discrimination is proven, disciplinary measures will be applied, up to and including expulsion from an OTH program or PITS Membership.

1. Lodging a Complaint
If your complaint is with respect to a teacher, please first consider contacting our General Manager Aden Date: aden@onlythehuman.com. However, we also have Volunteer Support Officers (VSOs) you can contact if:
Your complaint is about Aden or you would prefer not to share it with him.
Your complaint relates to a member of the Perth Improvised Theatre Society (PITS).
In that event, the Perth Improvised Theatre Society (PITS), PITS has two Volunteer Support Officers (VSOs) who are available to help you decide how you would like to address an issue. The VSOs have the authority of PITS’ Board to enact disciplinary measures, up to and including expulsion from Membership, against anyone who has violated our Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policy.
Our current VSOs are:
Jaleesa Maher (jaleesa.marie@live.com)
Rich Weatherill (weatherillrich@gmail.com)
We ask that you contact either of them to lodge a complaint and let them know:
Who you feel has violated the policy.
How you believe the policy was violated.
Your anonymity is ensured—the VSOs will not share your name or details with anyone.
2. Understanding the Issue
Your VSO will work with you to understand the issue and decide how you would like to address it. The matter can be referred to a sub-group from the board for resolution if you want formal, anonymous resolution (see Step 3).
The VSOs are not trained counsellors and are not able to provide counselling. They cannot become involved in investigating or conciliating complaints.
The VSOs will also record key data around any lodged complaints. This data will be de-identified.
3. Anonymous Resolution
If formal, anonymous resolution is sought then a sub-group from the Transition Working Group will be convened by the VSO handling the complaint. This group will exclude anyone alleged of violation of the policy.
The sub-group will convene and make a judgement on how to proceed, with disciplinary measures up to and including expulsion from all future Only the Human activities.
At all points the anonymity of the person raising the issue will be ensured.
